Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a Mid-Level Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and demonstrate mission-critical embedded software for missile defense systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline with GPA 3.0+.
• 4+ years of relevant experience, or 2+ years with a master's degree.
• U.S. citizen eligible for DoD clearance.
• Proficient in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
• Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville area.
• Experience with RTOS (VxWorks/Integrity/FreeRTOS).
• Familiar with ARM Cortex or RISC-V architectures.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps/CI/CD and test automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded airborne system software including architecture, coding, reviews, and unit testing.
• Own integration of software modules and support cross-subsystem integration.
• Utilize DevOps/CI/CD pipelines to ensure quality and delivery.
• Develop tools and harnesses to support testing, integration, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and team members through frequent communication.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to project delivery.
• Identify and adopt improved development workflows and AI-enabled development capabilities.
