Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer III for the Amazon IVS Real Time Video team, focusing on real-time, sub-second video delivery at massive scale.

You will design and build low-latency WebRTC distribution components, mentor engineers, and shape the architecture of next-generation streaming infrastructure, ensuring reliability and high performance for millions of concurrent viewers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Knowledge of at least two of Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Deep understanding of WebRTC architecture, including signaling, ICE, DTLS, SRTP.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize high-performance WebRTC distribution components for millions of viewers with sub-second latency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evolve real-time media delivery architecture.
• Contribute to protocol design for low-latency transport mechanisms and stay current with industry standards.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through profiling and data-driven optimization.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and participate in on-call rotations.
