Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a software engineer for the IVS Stream Management team to design and build backend services that start and manage live streams for millions of viewers worldwide.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and applied scientists to ensure highly available, scalable systems at AWS scale, and participate in code reviews, design discussions, and on-call rotations.

Formación

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 5+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience

Responsabilidades

• Own the technical direction of one or more services in the Stream Management portfolio; write the design docs, socialize them across IVS and adjacent teams, and drive them to implementation.
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and applied scientists to deliver seamless customer experiences.
• Ensure backend systems are highly available, scalable, and secure at AWS scale.
• Apply backend best practices including testing, performance optimization, observability, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with other AWS service teams to integrate shared services and deliver consistent AWS service experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, design reviews, and on-call rotations.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, metrics, alarms, and runbooks.
• Lead post-incident investigations for high-severity events in our services; drive the resulting action items to completion.
