Job summary

Anduril Industries in Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled software engineer to define and influence a small team focused on target tracking and state estimation. You will prototype and deploy tracking algorithms and develop high-performance software for real-time systems used in tactical and simulation environments.

The role requires deep expertise in Kalman filters, Bayesian methods, and sensor fusion, plus experience across the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in algorithm design, software development, and statistical modeling with C/C++, Python, and Matlab.
• Experience with target tracking techniques such as Kalman filters, particle filters, and multi-target tracking (JPDA, MHT, or PHD).
• Experience in state estimation, sensor fusion, and Bayesian filtering.
• Strong math including linear algebra, optimization, probability, and stochastic processes.
• Knowledge of signal processing for radar, lidar, EO/IR.
• Experience with big data pipelines and NoSQL databases handling large-scale sensor data.
• Background in machine learning applied to tracking, including clustering and anomaly detection.
• Ability to engineer robust estimation/controls in complex signal environments.
• Proven ability to work across lifecycles from prototyping to production.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain active U.S. Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define and influence the direction of a small team, leveraging subject-matter expertise in target tracking and state estimation.
• Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for tracking, multi-sensor data fusion, and state estimation in agile settings.
• Develop high-performance software for real-time systems, ranging from tactical implementations to simulation environments.
• Design and implement robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning systems for noisy sensor data.
• Analyze system performance using simulations and modeling tools to validate technology benefits.
• Drive customer success by customizing algorithms and software for mission-critical use cases.
• Integrate tracking and estimation technologies into the broader software development lifecycle.
• Translate technical progress into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
