Job summary

Draper, an independent nonprofit R&D company, seeks a System Modeling & Simulation Engineer to design, validate, and maintain dynamic simulations for rapid assessment and tests of complex aerospace systems.

The role involves leading engineers, developing real-time interfaces, and integrating software models with hardware in a rigorous project lifecycle. A Master’s degree (PhD preferred) and 10–15 years of Systems Engineering are expected.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of Systems Engineering or related experience.
• Significant experience with C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field; PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect, integrate, verify and validate system-level simulations in the context of a larger aerospace project life cycle.
• May lead small to medium sized team of engineers as assigned.
• Develop simulation CONOPs, use cases, and requirements.
• Design a simulation architecture, including interfaces, facilities, infrastructure, and models, to satisfy requirements.
• Write and automate test plans.
• Develop real-time hardware interfaces, integrate legacy software models, and develop new software models.
• Act as a subject matter expert in System Modeling and Simulation engineering.
• Integrate 3D visualization tools.
• Develop and maintain an in house real-time software framework.
