Job summary

Navflex in Colorado is seeking a senior software engineer to own the robot application architecture and real-time execution for autonomous forklifts. You will connect a customer's WMS to on-vehicle software, manage task state machines, telemetry, and cross-site deployment across four sites.

The role emphasizes low-latency, deterministic code, production ROS, and collaboration across algorithms, hardware I/O, and business logic. You will mentor teammates and help scale fielded systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in CS/Engineering or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering, including robotics/industrial automation.
• Production ROS experience with nodes, topics, actions, QoS.
• Strong Python and C++ in production robotics contexts.

Responsibilities

• Robot application architecture: state machines and workflow orchestration over the navigation stack.
• Real-time execution: CPU pool design, core pinning, scheduling, and containerized launches.
• Performance debugging: jitter, deadlines, and latency using RT Linux tooling.
• External integrations: VDA5050/MQTT, LIF, geoJSON, WMS, and I/O networks.
• On-vehicle telemetry: history, metrics, and versioned migrations for field upgrades.
• Standards & mentorship: test strategy design and code reviews.
