Hottinger Bruel & Kjaer in Florida is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Simulation Workbench (SimWB)—our real-time Linux-based hardware-in-the-loop platform for automotive, aerospace, and defense customers. You will own features end-to-end, from design through release, in a hands-on role on a small team.

Candidates should have 5+ years in Linux software, strong C/C++, Java and Python, and the ability to work close to hardware, read datasheets, and troubleshoot software/hardware

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Linux software development.
• Strong C/C++ and working knowledge of Java and Python.
• Experience owning features from design through release.
• Comfort working close to hardware; read datasheets for integration.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test features across the SimWB product in a real-time Linux environment.
• Develop and maintain I/O support for cards and protocols (EtherCAT, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN).
• Debug issues spanning software and hardware using lab equipment.
• Contribute to the SimWB release process (build, validation, packaging).
• Support customer escalations; write tests and docs; participate in design/code reviews.
