Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Brookfield, WI, is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer – System Integrations to lead the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of real-time, bare-metal firmware and embedded systems.

You will refine engineering requirements from marketing and user needs, review designs, drive milestones, mentor junior engineers, and communicate progress across the organization while using lab equipment for validation and debugging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or foreign degree equivalent with 5+ years progressive firmware experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ years experience.
• Embedded C and C++ experience required.
• DevOps, automated testing, and CI/CD experience requested.
• Laboratory equipment experience (oscilloscopes, analyzers, power supplies, data acquisition).
• Strong debugging and triage skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of real-time, bare-metal firmware and embedded systems.
• Refine engineering requirements based on marketing and user needs.
• Lead design and implementation of embedded software systems using modern processes.
• Peer-review software designs and source code.
• Establish and execute test procedures for software applications and subsystems.
