Job summary

RTX, the world’s leading aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Real-Time Embedded Systems engineer for the CDS organization located at East Hartford, CT. You will lead embedded software definition and certification efforts for military and commercial engine control systems, working on state-of-the-art technology and validating complex system interactions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive architectural decisions while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 8 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree and 5 years’ experience.
• US citizenship is required to access program/contract information.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead requirements, architecture, and low-level design of embedded software in C and/or ADA.
• System Certification: Drive development ensuring MIL-STD-516 and/or DO-178 compliance.
• Hardware/Software Integration: Lead debugging and integration on target platforms using analyzers, emulators and hardware test benches.
• Mentorship & Strategy: Coach and delegate work, review output, identify process improvements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with System Architects and Program Management to present status and risks.
• Capability Building: Enhance current processes and design tools.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in STEM

8 years of engineering experience or Advanced Degree +5 years
