Job summary

Nike Beaverton is seeking a Principal Controls Engineer to lead real-time control and embedded software efforts for the next generation of powered athlete products.

You will drive algorithm development (MPC/LQR, Kalman filtering) and sensor fusion on resource-constrained hardware, partnering with firmware, hardware, product, and sports science teams to deliver safe, intuitive athlete experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in real-time control systems and embedded software.
• Experience deploying control algorithms on resource-constrained hardware.
• Strong systems thinking across hardware/software/human interaction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy real-time control algorithms for powered athlete products.
• Apply MPC, LQR, Kalman filtering, and sensor fusion to complex challenges.
• Design systems that predict athlete intent and translate into motor actions.
