Job summary

Nike seeks a seasoned tech leader in Beaverton to drive AI/ML powered workflows accelerating firmware and mechatronic development.

You will shape architectures, build tooling, and mentor teams across firmware, controls, and hardware to deliver production-grade solutions. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering, ambiguity navigation, and scalable infrastructure for rapid iteration and testing.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
• Demonstrated expertise in production AI and Machine Learning systems, simulation environments, infrastructure tooling, and embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in Python, C++, modern AI development platforms, agentic workflows, and learning-based control methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI-powered workflows and automation for firmware and controls.
• Build scalable simulation and sim-to-real environments for rapid hardware testing.
• Create training, testing, and deployment frameworks for real-time embedded systems.
• Collaborate with firmware, controls, hardware, and product teams to remove bottlenecks.
• Design automated optimization and tuning systems to boost controller performance.
• Apply ML and data-driven methods to detect regressions and failures.
• Support data pipelines and orchestration for learning-based control initiatives.
