Nike Air Manufacturing Innovation in Beaverton, OR seeks a Senior Automation Controls Engineer to lead reliability and performance of advanced manufacturing systems across extrusion, thermoforming, RF, and automation platforms. You will own complex technical problems and drive continuous improvement for scalable deployment across production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in manufacturing, automation, or controls in high-volume environments.
• Strong troubleshooting of complex industrial equipment and control systems.
• Hands-on experience with PLC and VFD systems (AB, Siemens) and HMI.
• Ability to lead improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of critical equipment escalations and drive root-cause elimination.
• Own complex continuous improvement and retrofit projects to improve uptime and cost.
• Drive improvements in uptime, OEE, and equipment stability.
• Lead vendor engagement, defining scope and ensuring delivery of solutions.
• Support pilot automation solutions for production readiness and scale.
• Define technical standards and best practices; capture lessons learned.
• Ensure systems are production-ready, maintainable, and sustainable.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintenance staff with problem solving guidance.
• Collaborate across Manufacturing Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to align execution.
