Job summary

Simone Development seeks a Senior Accounting Analyst to oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and analytics for a portfolio of commercial, healthcare, mixed-use and development properties in the New York area.

Reporting to the Vice President of Accounting, you will manage ownership structures, lender reporting, lease and escalation analyses, development projects and year-end reporting, while promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
• CPA preferred.
• 7-10 years of commercial property accounting experience.
• Advanced Yardi Voyager and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting and financial reporting activities for assigned entities and properties.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ownership reporting packages, and supporting work papers.
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and debt amortization schedules.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Staff Accountants and Property Accountants.
• Review work prepared by accounting staff.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, workflow efficiencies, automation, and standardization across accounting functions.
• Support management in monitoring compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal control requirements.
• Manage and oversee the work performed by third-party resources.
• Review deliverables prepared by third-party resources to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company standards.
