Job summary

Buckingham Companies, based in Indianapolis, seeks a Senior Real Estate Analyst to support acquisition, underwriting, and execution of ground-up development and redevelopment projects. You will work with senior developers to evaluate opportunities, manage risk, and shape capital structures through feasibility, financing, and committee reviews.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years in real estate development, investments, or related role with underwriting experience.
Experience building development financial models and scenario analysis.
Understanding of zoning, entitlements, and development process from site to construction.
Experience with financing, capital stacks, JVs, and return waterfalls.
Exposure to tax increment financing, abatements, or related incentives.
Strong written and verbal communication to explain assumptions and risks.

Responsibilities

Underwrite ground-up development and redevelopment opportunities from feasibility through approval.
Build and maintain development financial models with budgets, schedules, and exit scenarios.
Synthesize inputs into clear feasibility conclusions and identify key risks.
Coordinate due diligence and entitlements with municipalities, consultants, and lenders.
Support transaction execution, including land acquisitions, JVs, and financing.
Prepare investment memoranda and present to senior leadership and Investment Committee.
Track budgets, schedules, and entitlement milestones; oversee junior analysts.
