Job summary

EDF power solutions North America seeks a Senior Real Estate Counsel to lead land leases, due diligence for major project transactions, and financing preparations. You will negotiate complex agreements and support asset optimization across solar, storage, and wind projects.

The role demands strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills, with travel up to 15% and office-based work. A JD with US bar admission is required, preferably TX/CA.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to US state bars, with preference for Texas or California.
• Typically 10 years of real estate legal experience.
• Renewable energy sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages legal aspects of project development: land leases and real estate due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and M&A.
• Drafts, negotiates, and reviews real estate and project-related agreements (land control, easements, purchase agreements, options).
• Advises on legal matters in project development, operations, maintenance, and asset optimization.
• Reviews and negotiates commercial lease agreements for infrastructure needs.
• Prepares essential legal documents: consulting agreements, master service agreements, NDAs, and real estate forms.
• Supports dispute resolution and manages external counsel.
• Maintains corporate policies to align with jurisdictional requirements.
• Provides ad-hoc support within the legal department.
• Other duties as assigned.
