Our client, a private real estate investment and management firm, seeks an accomplished Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations across residential, commercial, hospitality and other investments. You will lead a small accounting team, work closely with senior leadership, and drive accurate, timely reporting for multiple entities.

Key responsibilities include month-end close, budget consolidation, cash flow monitoring, and coordination with auditors and tax professionals.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Progressive accounting experience, including controller-level roles.
• Direct experience in real estate accounting and property-level financial management.
• Strong understanding of real estate financial reporting, GL, consolidations, and month/year-end closes.
• Experience with multiple properties/entities or investment structures.
• Familiarity with real estate software such as Yardi, Rent Manager, MRI.
• Experience coordinating with external auditors/tax professionals.
• CPA preferred but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations of a diversified real estate portfolio.
• Guide a small internal accounting team, manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end closings across properties/entities.
• Coordinate with external auditors, auditors, and tax professionals for audits and compliance.
• Oversee property-level accounting and review reports from third-party property managers.
• Develop and consolidate property-level budgets for company-wide planning and cash flow.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial performance; identify improvement opportunities.
• Track construction and development expenditures with proper cost allocation and reporting.
• Manage intercompany transactions and inter-entity loans.
