Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown is seeking a Real Estate Audit Supervisor in Tysons Corner, VA. You will lead audit engagements for REITs, developers, real estate funds, and property managers, supervising staff and coordinating with managers and partners.

Responsibilities include planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and reporting, while ensuring GAAP compliance and high client service. Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA or CPA-eligible is required or preferred.
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience, with leadership of multiple engagements.
• Experience auditing real estate or related organizations.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including US GAAP familiarity.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring abilities; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement planning and execution for audits, reviews, and compilations for real estate clients.
• Oversee day-to-day audit operations including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and reporting.
• Supervise staff and communicate with engagement team, manager, and partner.
• Collaborate on client issue resolution and advise on legal, regulatory, and accounting matters.
• Review general ledger and financial statements for reliability and GAAP compliance.
• Manage multiple engagements and budgets; track engagement efficiency.
