Job summary

Town of Greenwich is seeking a Supervising Assessor’s Office professional to oversee day-to-day operations and staff. The role supports valuation of multi-billion dollars in commercial and residential real estate, personal property, and motor vehicles.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of appraisal experience with at least 2 years in supervision. Certification in CT Municipal Assessor or CCMA II is required or pursued within two years of appointment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in real estate and personal property appraisal work within the last 10 years.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises office staff.
• Reviews appraisers' work for accuracy and conformity to Town standards.
• Develops and coordinates field appraisal procedures for staff.
• Performs field work, inspecting and measuring buildings to verify data.
• Verifies property sales, mortgages, financing and leasing as recorded in Land Records.
• Inspects properties at time of sale to stay current with market changes.
