The Town of Hartford, VT, seeks a career-oriented professional to supervise and conduct the appraisal of real property within the Town for purposes of taxation.
Minimum requirements include: Associate or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline plus 3 to 5 years of directly related training and experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills in the field were acquired.
Understanding of municipal government, mass appraisal practices and principles, with the ability to utilize CAMA software. Vermont Property Assessor designation or IAAO professional designation preferred. Must possess a broad base of technical knowledge and skills related to real estate appraisal and assessing practices, including good working knowledge of building construction techniques and practices, principles and practices of mass appraisal. This position also requires proficient computer skills, office administration experience specific to a municipality, the ability to perform property inspections, and the ability to supervise staff. Strong public relations skills are desirable.
The pay range for this full-time position is $38.73 / hour - $54.19 / hour with benefits that include health, dental, and life insurance, and a retirement plan.
