Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Accountant in the Real Estate sector to join our Accounting and Finance team in Maryland. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience, GAAP expertise, and hands-on work with the General Ledger, year-end close, and Yardi property management accounting.

You will prepare monthly and annual financial statements, manage reconciliations, assist budgets, and collaborate with auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• CPA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with focus on Real Estate.
• GAAP knowledge and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency with General Ledger management and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage and oversee the General Ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Facilitate monthly and year-end close procedures, including bank reconciliations and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with annual budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis.
• Ensure internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Utilize Yardi software for property management accounting and reporting.
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audits.
• Interact with multiple departments to provide accounting guidance.
