GovCIO is seeking a senior React Software Engineer to rebuild customer-facing apps and define architecture from the ground up. You will lead a transformation from legacy Spring Boot/Thymeleaf to a modern front-end platform, collaborating with architects, backend teams, DevOps, and product teams in a fully remote US-based role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years building production applications with React.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills with modern front-end patterns.
• Experience with REST/GraphQL and API integration.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, security best practices and WCAG.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of modern customer-facing web apps using React and TypeScript.
• Define future front-end architecture including component libraries, state management, routing, authentication, and API integration patterns.
• Modernize legacy applications by migrating to a decoupled front-end architecture.
• Collaborate with backend teams to build REST and GraphQL APIs supporting web experiences.
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, accessibility, performance, and security.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for front-end apps in a DevSecOps environment.
• Integrate automated testing, static analysis, and security validation in the lifecycle.
• Champion reusable UI components and design systems across applications.
• Mentor engineers and grow modern front-end capabilities.
