Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a senior React Software Engineer to rebuild customer-facing applications from the ground up. You will lead front-end modernization, define architecture, and set engineering standards in a fully remote role within the United States.

You will work with architects, backend, DevOps, security, and product teams to deliver fast, secure, maintainable web apps while advancing DevSecOps practices and reusable design systems across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years building production applications with React.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript proficiency.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of responsive design and WCAG accessibility.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and cloud-native deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of customer-facing React apps.
• Define front-end architecture, libraries, state management, routing, API patterns.
• Modernize legacy Spring Boot/Thymeleaf to decoupled front-end.
• Collaborate with backend teams on REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Establish standards for quality, testing, accessibility, performance, security.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for front-end in DevSecOps.
• Integrate testing, static analysis, and security checks in CI.
• Champion reusable UI components and design systems.
• Mentor engineers and grow front-end capabilities.
• Evaluate new front-end tech to boost productivity and UX.
