Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a senior accounting professional to supervise capital accounting, grant accounting and project billing from our Mesa, AZ finance team. The role supports external reporting, audits, and control processes in a dynamic railroad services environment.

Qualified candidates will have 7–10 years of related experience, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, and preferably CPA or MBA credentials. Pre-employment screening and relocation within 50 miles of Mesa may be required.

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of related accounting experience, preferably in a US public company.
• Experience with capital accounting, grant accounting and project billing.
• Pre‑employment physical and background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise capital accounting, grant accounting and project billing within the finance team.
• Support external reporting processes, including audits and quarterly reviews.
• Assist in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions; support internal controls and staff training.
