Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a seasoned maintenance leader to oversee contracted maintenance for light rail vehicles and the maintenance of way. You will manage budgets, review procedures, and coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure safe, reliable rail service.

Responsibilities include directing staff, scheduling work, supervising procurement, and enforcing compliance with safety standards while supporting asset management and continuous improvement across facilities and systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; five years of managing and supervising maintenance operations are preferred.
  • Equivalents in education/experience accepted; leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and reviews maintenance work, schedules, and staff performance.
  • Oversees contractor performance and parts management within LRV maintenance and wayside systems.
  • Leads asset management and inventory planning for shop equipment and facilities.
  • Ensures safety, compliance with procedures, and reporting to senior staff.
