Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Principal Resident Engineer to lead construction oversight at a major transportation hub in New York City. The role oversees daily activities, ensures safety, and coordinates with project managers, contractors, and government agencies.

This position acts as Commercial Manager for a General Engineering Consultant team, negotiating proposals, reviewing estimates, and guiding on-site decisions to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or similar; Master's preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in NY is required.
• Minimum 12 years of construction contract administration experience in NYC/NJ area.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily construction activities and inspection duties.
• Review plans, specs and changes for constructability and practicality.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, permits, and coordination with agencies.
• Coordinate between contractors and 3rd party stakeholders.
• Review design drawings and contractor repair proposals; update asset tracking.
