Job summary

Egis is seeking an Engineer, Communications to join our team in the United States. This role focuses on delivering complex railway communications systems across design, construction, testing, and operational readiness.

The successful candidate will manage interfaces among multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and operators, ensuring compliance and timely delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure.
• 10+ years of experience in railway communications, operational telecommunications, or transportation systems engineering.
• Proven experience delivering communications systems through design, integration, testing, commissioning, and operational acceptance.
• Experience with fiber optic networks, IP/MPLS networking, radio systems, and LTE/FRMCS or other mission-critical tech.
• Strong understanding of systems integration, operational communications, cybersecurity interfaces, and transportation infrastructure applications.
• Demonstrated ability to develop technical deliverables and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve communications engineering deliverables across design, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Support requirements management, system architecture development, and interface coordination across engineering disciplines.
• Review supplier and contractor designs for compliance with project requirements and operational needs.
• Provide technical oversight for communications systems including fiber, radio, and telecom infrastructure.
• Support regulatory, operational and compliance activities with documentation and approval packages.
• Develop and support testing, commissioning, system integration, defect resolution, and final acceptance tasks.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, operators, consultants, service providers, and technical teams to ensure project delivery.
