Dewberry seeks a Structural (Rail Bridge) Project Engineer/Inspector to join its Bloomfield, NJ office and deliver high-quality design and inspection services for transit and freight rail bridges nationwide. The role requires bridge design and inspection experience, leadership of inspection teams, mentorship of junior staff, and collaboration with clients, agencies and vendors.

Travel within NJ/NY and surrounding areas is expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering; MS/MS in structural engineering preferred.
• PE license required (NJ or NY preferred or ability to obtain).
• 8+ years in railroad engineering, inspection and design for freight rail or passenger transit bridges.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and inspection teams on bridge projects, coordinating with agencies and vendors.
• Perform structural analysis and load rating calculations per AREMA and client requirements.
• Prepare reports, plans, cost estimates and specifications; mentor junior staff.
