Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Radiation Therapist to treat patients with prescribed ionizing radiation using specialized equipment. You will prepare treatment rooms, position patients, administer treatments, explain procedures, monitor patients and ensure comfort and safety. On-call coverage and participation in rounds are required.

Requirements include a 2-year radiation therapy training, ARRT registration, Maryland licensure, CPR certification, and 5+ years of experience in Radiation Therapy.

Qualifications

• 2 year training program in radiation therapy.
• Registered in radiation therapy by ARRT.
• Licensed by Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Reviews treatment charts and prescription parameters for delivery of radiation therapy.
• Maintains caring environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Delivers treatment according to written prescription and plan.
• Performs safety checks and documentation of treatments.
• Participates in chart rounds and quality improvement meetings.
• Provides rotating on-call coverage for emergencies.
