Job summary

The role delivers prescribed doses, monitors treatment delivery, maintains accurate documentation, and participates in quality assurance activities. On-call coverage Saturdays and Sundays is required; rotation may include after-hours support.

Qualifications

• 2-year radiation therapy training required.
• Licensure and ARRT registration mandatory.
• Maryland state license required.
• CPR certification required (Heart Saver).

Responsibilities

• Reviews treatment charts to ensure prescribed dose and delivery.
• Maintains an atmosphere of care, concern, and support for patients and staff.
• Delivers radiation treatment per prescription and treatment plan; reports deviations.
• Documents treatment records accurately and completely.
• Explains procedures to patient and family; refers questions to staff.
• Performs as needed in all treatment procedures.
• Assists in quality assurance of the treatment machine under supervision.
• Produces portal images; adjusts fields and maintains daily schedule.
• Attends chart rounds and QI meetings; participates in on-call rotations.
• Provides rotating on-call for emergency patients on weekends; supports after-hours care.
• Participates in the RQI program at GBMC hospital.
