Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks a Senior Radiation Therapist (part-time) in Towson, MD to treat patients with prescribed doses using specialized equipment. Responsibilities include preparing treatment areas, positioning patients, delivering therapy per prescription, and monitoring during sessions.

Requires ARRT registration, MD license, and 5+ years of experience. Education includes a 2-year radiation therapy program; on-call duties and weekend rotations described.

Qualifications

• 2-year radiation therapy program completed.
• Registered in radiation therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the State of Maryland.
• 5+ years of experience in Radiation Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' treatment charts for prescription, monitor units, prescribed dose and set up parameters to deliver a course of radiation therapy.
• Maintain an atmosphere of caring, concern and support for patients, visitors, medical staff and coworkers.
• Deliver radiation treatment according to written prescription and treatment plan.
• Ensure safety and patient care through consistent adherence to departmental procedures for treatment administration.
• Document treatment records accurately and completely, including billing information and codes.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and/or family; refer questions to appropriate personnel.
• Attend chart rounds and QA meetings as directed; participate in on-call for emergency patients.
