Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Radiation Engineer within the Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE) group in the United States. You will lead radiation testing across TID, DDD, and SEE for avionics hardware, developing test setups and software to collect and process data, while coordinating with test facilities and maintaining official records.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware/software development, radiation effects knowledge, and collaboration across teams to enable launch hardware

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Nuclear Science, or related field with 5+ years of radiation experience.
• Hands-on experience developing component test hardware in an automated and reproducible manner.
• Basic understanding of radiation effects on electronics.
• Electrical engineering fundamentals and lab equipment familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom radiation test setups.
• Develop custom software for test data collection and processing.
• Document radiation test plans and results.
• Interface with radiation test facilities to schedule and perform tests.
• Maintain Blue’s radiation test database.
• Contribute to improvements in radiation test capabilities and laboratory.
• Advise program personnel on parts selection and test procedures.
