Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a skilled Radiation Effects Engineer to join the Systems and Avionics Center of Excellence. You will validate designs against radiation control plans, lead mitigation efforts, and analyze SEE/ TID effects to strengthen avionics reliability.

You will develop automation scripts and AI-assisted workflows to improve analysis consistency, and collaborate across programs to share knowledge and best practices in radiation effects engineering.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Nuclear Science, or related field with 4+ years experience in radiation effects on electronics and materials.
• Experience with radiation environment modeling tools (IRENE, OMERE, SPENVIS, OLTARIS, CREME96) and basic statistics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present radiation requirements and results.

Responsibilities

• Validate space program designs with respect to radiation control plans and verification.
• Lead program design personnel through simulation and mitigation of radiation effects on electronics.
• Analyze radiation impacts and test data to inform avionics designs.
• Prepare comprehensive radiation effects analyses at part, circuit, and system levels.
