Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior Radiation Effects Engineer to lead end-to-end analysis, data workflows, and part qualification across radiation environments for space systems. You will mentor a multidisciplinary team and shape test standards, while advancing automated tooling for efficient engineering decision making.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing to ensure robust radiation tolerance of components and assemblies, with travel as needed to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Nuclear Science, or related field with 15+ years of direct experience.
• Expert-level understanding of radiation effects on electronics and materials across commercial and rad-hardened technologies.
• Experience with circuit analysis, risk assessment for transient radiation, and radiation environment tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Subject Matter Expert on electronics part performance and space radiation environments; mentor engineers.
• Drive automation and tooling initiatives, roadmaps for radiation testing, analysis and research.
• Architect Radiation Test Database systems to make data usable and traceable.
• Translate mission parameters into radiation environment definitions and requirements.
• Model and validate circuit performance under radiation exposure and verify hardening techniques.
