Job summary

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Inc. seeks a Systems Engineer to support design recovery, sustainment planning, and digital transformation of the AN/SPY-1 radar system.

You will lead requirements analysis, interface definitions, and MBSE-driven baseline development for a legacy radar transitioning to a modern sustainment model. The role requires 10+ years in systems engineering or radar work, strong communication skills, and an active Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or radar system development/sustainment.
• Active Secret Clearance; ability to work within security constraints.
• MBSE methodologies and tools experience (Cameo, Rhapsody, DOORS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support system-level requirements development for radar subsystems (transmitter, signal processor, antenna).
• Develop and manage requirements traceability to radar specs, ICDs, and test objectives.
• Support creation of a digital technical baseline using MBSE and structured data repositories.
• Define and maintain functional, logical, and physical architectures for SPY-1 and subassemblies.
• Assist with design recovery and reverse engineering of GFE hardware and legacy docs.
• Analyze subsystem interdependencies and define interface specs and system constraints.
• Collaborate with test, software, and hardware teams to develop verification plans.
• Support technical reviews, risk assessments, and system readiness across phases.
• Assist with Integrated Data Packages (ITDPs) and depot activation planning.
