Job summary

RTX's Space & Airborne Center in El Segundo, CA seeks Senior Systems Engineers to integrate radar hardware and software, develop test plans, and verify system requirements for final sell-off to customers. Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in STEM with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience troubleshooting technical issues with electronics, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute IV&V activities in our labs or, occasionally, in the field
• Perform troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment
• Handle system hardware modules or units, some with the use of support equipment
• Complete detailed system or software test data records, including the use of analysis tools such as MATLAB
• Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
• Manage engineering support activities related to test and trouble‑shoot of hardware
• Interpret and maintain design specifications and drawings (Schematics & Assembly Drawings)
• Maintain engineering databases
• Develop system technical solutions with Engineering teams
• Directly support Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL) via periodic team meetings, working group meetings, and individual tasks
• Lead small teams on individual IV&V tasks assigned by the Engineering IPTL
• Coordinate across functions (operations, software, hardware) for the completion of complex program tasks as assigned by the Engineering IPTL
• Test event support activity that may require travel; which is not expected to exceed 10%
