Job summary

RTX in Woburn, MA is seeking a Principal Radar Systems Engineer to join the SE&TC Surface Radars & Sensors Center, onsite in Woburn. You will help support the AN/TPY-2 missile defense radar program, delivering high‑resolution detection, tracking and discrimination capabilities.

You will define system requirements, design architectures and algorithms, prototype methods, and coordinate with software teams to ensure correct implementation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of experience.
• Experience with Electronic Protection (EP), Arbitrary Waveform (AWF) and/or advanced signal processing concepts.
• Active DoD Security Clearance or eligibility is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Defining radar system requirements, architectures and algorithms.
• Collaborate with software teams to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with program goals.
• Prototype new algorithms to enhance system performance.
• Analyze radar data to verify compliance with requirements.
• Present plans, designs and performance analyses to peers and customers.
