Job summary

RTX in the U.S. is seeking a Principal Radar Systems Engineer to join the SE&TC Surface Radars & Sensors Center. This onsite role in Woburn, MA supports the AN/TPY-2 radar program, providing high‑level engineering for radar systems, algorithms, and simulations.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in radar engineering, experience with EP/AWF, strong coding in MATLAB/C/C++, and active DoD clearance. Join a team delivering advanced missile defense sensors and related systems.

Qualifications

STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with Electronic Protection (EP) and Arbitrary Waveform (AWF) concepts.
Expertise in radar engineering and related technical disciplines.
Proficiency in MATLAB, C/C++, ADA, or DOORS.
Strong communication and ability to interface with customers.
Active DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

Define and prototype new algorithms to enhance system performance.
Analyze radar system performance data against requirements.
Identify performance gaps and propose solutions.
Present technical plans and analyses to peers, internal leadership, and external customers.
Provide SME support to agile software teams to implement requirements.
