Job summary

Abbott in Plymouth, MN is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer, Electrophysiology to advance electroporation cardiac ablation therapies. You will translate customer needs into product requirements and guide verification, validation, and program goals with senior management.

You will lead pre-clinical and clinical evaluations, collaborate across disciplines, protect IP, and communicate results to teams and customers while shaping next-generation electrophysiology solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical or Biological Science or related field.
• 5+ years of medical device development and/or research, including electroporation.
• Ability to work in a matrixed, geographically diverse environment.
• Proven leadership and ability to provide feedback to improve results.
• Strong verbal and written communication; travel approximately 20% (including international).

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal SME on electroporation therapy and technology.
• Formulate and implement R&D programs to support profitable growth.
• Interface with internal/external resources to protect IP.
• Ensure development programs meet regulatory and customer requirements.
• Lead/pre-clinical and clinical evaluations; present results to stakeholders.
• Author reports and manuscripts; translate customer needs into product requirements.
