Job summary

Abbott in Plymouth, MN is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer, Electrophysiology to drive therapy and technology development for electroporation cardiac ablation. You will translate customer needs into product requirements, guide system verification, and align program goals with regulatory and market needs.

You will lead cross-functional teams, oversee pre-clinical/clinical evaluations, and communicate progress to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical or biological science.
• 5+ years in medical device development and electroporation research.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed, geographically diverse environment and travel ~20%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME on electroporation therapy and technology.
• Lead research and development programs to support profitable growth.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to protect IP and align with regulatory needs.
• Support pre-clinical and clinical evaluations and present results to stakeholders.
• Author reports, abstracts, and manuscripts.
• Engage with field personnel and key opinion leaders as needed.
