Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company in Nebraska is seeking a Quarry Manager to coordinate and supervise quarry operations to ensure an adequate supply of raw material for plant production.

This role makes decisions on quarry operations and maintenance, oversees capital expenditures, and collaborates with maintenance and production teams to optimize safety and efficiency. Strong leadership, budgeting, and MSHA safety knowledge are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• 4 year/Bachelor's Degree in mining, geology, or engineering
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mining operations
• Minimum of 5 years as a quarry supervisor preferred
• Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills
• Ability to lead/manage others
• Knowledge of MSHA safety regulations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Knowledge of quarry operations, including optimizing quarry resources and design

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines
• Establishes, communicates, and assigns job responsibilities, goals, and performance standards for employees within the Quarry Department. Evaluates job performance
• Performs surveillance of quarry maintenance and operations by conducting inspections
• Monitors productions need to ensure enough rock is available and ready for use in manufacturing
• Oversees all aspects of the quarry department when explosives are used in quarry operations
• Prepares reports and other specified paperwork as requested by management
• Supports and participates in plant/quarry safety and environmental programs
• Cooperates with Plant Manager to discuss goals, strategic planning, etc.
