Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is hiring a Senior Systems and Network Engineer in College Park, MD. You will own the classical infrastructure that supports quantum hardware builds, provisioning servers, configuring VLANs, and maintaining lab and datacenter networks.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on systems/network/infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with switches, firewalls, routers, on‑prem servers.
• Experience provisioning using infrastructure‑as‑code or automation tools.
• Experience integrating non‑standard hardware into compute environments.
• Strong scripting ability in Python, Go, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provision Linux servers and system heads for quantum hardware builds.
• Build and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code for provisioning (Ansible, Kickstart, etc.).
• Design and troubleshoot lab/dc networking: VLANs, switches, firewalls, cabling.
• Integrate custom hardware like cameras and laser control systems.
• Use IPMI/BMC to manage servers without physical intervention.
