THE ROLE

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager, you will join a growing team, working closely with all levels of the business to deliver cost estimating and management services to clients, architects, and developers. This client-facing role initially focuses on CRE/TI fit-out projects, engaging directly with clients, architects, consultants, and construction managers to build strong relationships. As a senior team member, you'll handle multiple complex assignments, deliver within deadlines, and manage project teams to provide excellent services, supporting leadership to achieve outstanding regional outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, manage, undertake, and/or deliver

  • Cost planning advice during project conception using historical data and project parameters
  • Cost estimates and peer reviews from Schematic Design to Construction Documentation
  • Value engineering discussions and workshops to add project value
  • Risk management, including regular reviews and updates of the risk register
  • Cost advice exercises and appraisals to support informed decision-making
  • Procurement advice and strategies tailored to project conditions
  • Bid process management, including RFP preparation, bid evaluation, and contractual commentary
  • GMP and lump-sum contract reviews, negotiations, and agreements with CMs and GCs
  • Monthly financial reporting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Change order management, including entitlement review, measurement, negotiations, and recommendations
  • Payment requisitions, invoice processing, and liaising with client accounting teams
  • Participation and leadership in meetings
  • Final account preparation and project closeout

Other tasks

  • Assist with RFQ responses, RFP bid preparations, and project interviews
  • Collect and provide project benchmarking data
  • Stay informed on industry trends to advise clients effectively
  • Communicate cost advice clearly and professionally
  • Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for new business development
  • Support and mentor team members
  • Assist other offices and projects as needed
  • Foster a learning environment through training and thought leadership
  • Encourage feedback and continuous improvement
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Implement WT Partnership policies and lead policy development

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or relevant degree
  • At least 6 years of experience with medium to large projects, including CRE/TI fit-outs
  • Pre- and post-contract experience
  • US citizenship or existing/transferable right to work in the US
  • COVID-19 vaccination as required by clients
  • MRICS or equivalent accreditation
  • Experience with CostX, OST, Revit, BIM
