Job summary

Commence is seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher to lead implementation and evaluation of CMS/CMMI alternative payment models. You will apply advanced analytics on the Commence platform, collaborating with economists, data scientists, and engineers to drive insights and practical recommendations.

The role emphasizes rigorous methodology, clear reporting, and the ability to translate policy goals into actionable, data-driven approaches across datasets including claims and surveys.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics, health services research, health policy, public health or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on CMS/CMMI APM implementation/evaluation experience is preferred.
• Experience with both implementation and evaluation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement CMS/CMMI APMs and perform evaluation using the Commence platform.
• Lead methodology documents, evaluation reports, and client briefings for model teams.
• Collaborate with economists, data scientists, and engineers to develop prototypes and apply ML methods.
• Design technical approaches for CMS/CMMI and other federal proposals; manage teams and deliver high-quality outputs on time.
• Translate model design and policy goals into operational methodologies using Medicare/Medicaid data and other sources.
