Job summary

RBC Bearings is seeking a Quality Manager at the site level to lead quality operations and ensure compliance with aerospace, defense, and government contracts. You will drive a proactive quality culture, oversee MRB, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

The role reports to the General Manager, collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Lean, and Supply Chain to align quality objectives with corporate strategies and to deliver reliable, defect-free products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years in quality management within regulated industries (aerospace/defense/marine).
• Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, and related aerospace/defense standards.
• Strong APQP/PPAP expertise and risk management.
• Experience with root cause analysis, 8D, and corrective actions.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with quality software systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Champion proactive quality culture and quality ownership.
• Lead site quality assurance and control to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Drive zero-defect culture using structured problem-solving and risk management.
• Recruit, train, and develop quality personnel.
• Oversee MRB process for disposition of nonconforming material.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace, defense, marine, government contracts.
• Represent quality during audits and inspections.
• Establish and report quality metrics (complaints, defects, supplier performance, QCC).
• Maintain inspection, testing, calibration, and verification processes.
• Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and control plans.
• Partner with Operations, Lean, Engineering, Supply Chain to improve quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with leadership to set quality goals and improvement plans.
• Ensure export control and contract requirements compliance.
• Support QMS enhancements per AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA/EASA/DoD as applicable.
