Job summary

DoorDash in Fremont, CA seeks a Staff Quality Engineer to lead the quality program for a prototype robotic assembly line, transitioning to scalable production. You will architect quality systems, supplier partnerships, and process controls from concept through deployment.

This hands-on hardware role requires deep supplier quality experience, PFMEA, MRB, CAPA, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, design, and systems teams to ensure high-reliability builds and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of quality engineering experience in hardware/robotics/complex electromechanical domains
• Direct experience standing up supplier quality programs: qualification, audits, scorecards, issue resolution
• Designed and implemented quality control plans, inspection standards, and process controls for prototype or low-volume lines
• Skilled in root-cause analysis, CAPA development, and statistical process control (SPC)
• Fluent with APQP, PPAP, MSA, GR&R, control plans, and digital quality management platforms
• Working knowledge of QMS integration into ERP systems

Responsibilities

• Build the end-to-end quality program for the prototype robot assembly line.
• Define quality standards and inspection criteria for parts and sub-assemblies.
• Establish and manage supplier quality function including qualification, audits, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Develop PFMEAs and connect system-level risks to process controls and inspections.
• Develop inline quality control processes and end-of-line validation for prototype builds.
• Lead MRB disposition of non-conforming material and drive CAPA.
• Partner with manufacturing, design, systems, and test teams to integrate quality requirements from concept through deployment.
