Job summary

DoorDash Labs is hiring a Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to own the process and equipment behind how our autonomous food delivery platform is built. You will lead manufacturing from prototype to high-volume production, partnering with design and suppliers to scale operations on the shop floor and beyond.

Qualifications

• Hands-on ownership of manufacturing processes and equipment for complex electromechanical products.
• Experience taking a product from prototype into high-volume production.
• Comfortable working in a scrappy startup environment with ambiguity.
• Experience with electric propulsion and powertrains.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end manufacturing process and equipment, including tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with design engineers to optimize for manufacturability, cost, yield, and assembly.
• Select and implement a manufacturing execution system (MES) with traceability across the vehicle.
• Qualify suppliers and contract manufacturers through on-site visits and audits.
• Own key metrics: first-pass yield, cost per unit, throughput, scrap/rework.
• Hire, mentor, and grow the manufacturing team as we scale.
