Job summary

Hypertherm Associates in Kent, WA is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer to strengthen quality across our Waterjet business team, guiding quality from development through supplier partnerships to operations and the customer experience.

You will use data and collaboration to identify priorities, drive corrective actions, and lead continuous improvement projects, with travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. This role is onsite in Kent, WA.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of quality experience in high-technology industry.
• Experience with Supplier Quality Management (APQP, PPAP, SCAR).
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) stage-gate processes.

Responsibilities

• Represent Quality Engineering on New Product Introduction projects, identifying risks and partnering with cross-functional teams to develop contingency plans.
• Develop and maintain proactive and reactive supplier quality processes to support quality, cost, and performance goals.
• Monitor internal quality metrics, identify trends, and lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement projects.
• Use the CAPA system to address quality issues in partnership with cross-functional teams.
