Senior Quality Engineer for Spaceflight Ops

Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to establish and enforce our quality system across production for spaceflight hardware. You’ll measure and improve quality processes, lead corrective actions, and ensure alignment between engineering, manufacturing, and test teams.

You will review build documents, perform audits relating to AS9100, and drive root-cause analysis. A strong safety culture and collaboration are essential in this mission-driven role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. in engineering/science or American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification
• 10+ years’ industry experience in the engineering field with at least 8 years in a quality engineer role
• Quality assurance experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, military/commercial aviation preferred
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes for production environments.
• Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance; integrate quality applications between engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
• Interface with customers on quality concerns and develop training materials to build quality awareness.
• Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.
• Audit the quality system in accordance with AS9100 and drive root-cause corrective actions.
