Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a senior Quality leader to drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and operations. You will mentor a team of Quality Engineers, Specialists, and Inspectors, ensure AS9100 compliance, and guide corrective actions from nonconformances to prevent recurrence.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Design, and Supply Chain to embed quality in every lifecycle stage and maintain flight-ready readiness for launch programs.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive quality engineering or quality management experience in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environments.
• 7+ years of direct people management experience with proven ability to develop high-performing teams.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems and leading internal/external audits.
• Experience in managing nonconformance processes, corrective actions, and First Article Inspections (AS9102).
• Strong root-cause analysis skills (8D/FMEA/Fishbone) and sustained corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Create strategic quality initiatives with Operations to drive continuous improvement and first-time quality.
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Quality Engineers, Specialists and Inspectors.
• Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and support professional development for direct reports.
• Champion adherence to AS9100 across manufacturing operations and lead internal audits.
• Develop and track quality metrics and KPIs; initiate corrective actions to address adverse trends.
• Interface with Manufacturing, Design, Supply Chain, and Test teams to embed quality at every stage.
