Job summary

AUTOKINITON is seeking a Quality Engineer with 6+ years of quality engineering or supplier development experience to lead APQP activities, support ISO audits, and drive proactive quality improvements at the Plymouth, MI facility.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, strong PPAP and GD&T knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Willingness to travel to customers and suppliers is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; minimum six years in quality engineering or supplier development.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17025:2017, and ISO 14001 procedures.
• Experience with PPAP, APQP documents (Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plans).
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct meetings with customers, suppliers, and in-plant personnel.
• Serve as main contact for external customer concerns; monitor, respond, initiate corrective actions, and track complaints.
• Work with customers to obtain APQP documents (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans).
• Support ISO audits and the Quality Management System (QMS) audits.
• Drive implementation of a progressive quality system to prevent defects and meet customer expectations.
• Develop and maintain company performance metric data; prepare charts and summaries for measurables.
• Travel to customers, vendors, and suppliers as necessary; generate visitation reports.
